S. Richard Hagins

CEO & President

After serving his country for 23 years as a U.S. Naval Officer and retiring in 2000 with the rank of Commander, Richard Hagins followed his entrepreneurial spirit and grandfather's passion for service when founding Universal Supplies & Services, Inc., now US&S, Inc., in 2003. The company started with an initial $25,000 investment and 2 unpaid employees and has grown to a $20 million company with over 80 employees under Hagins' leadership.

Since settling in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1996, Hagins has become an integral part of his adopted home through the work of his company and commitment to service. He has previously held numerous community affiliated positions ranging from Treasurer of the South Carolina State Port Authorities (SCSPA) to the Programs Committee Chair for the Greenville Metro YMCA Board. Most recently, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and Chairman of the Board for the Blood Connection.

Hagins received a BS from Savannah State College in Electronic Engineering Technology and his MA from Webster University in Business Management. He recently completed the Executive Education Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Darion Morgan, CPA

Corporate Controller

Darion Morgan has nearly a decade of deep industry knowledge in corporate accounting, finance and internal/external auditing methodologies and procedures. He is responsible for all US&S accounting and financial affairs. For many years, Darion worked as an Auditor for KPMG, LLC (KPMG), a global audit, tax, and advisory firm. Prior to joining US&S, Darion served as the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Coordinator/Internal Auditor for a national leader in the restaurant industry where he designed and tested Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) based SOX Section 404, developed and performed audit procedures for internal audits, and communicated SOX testing results for SOX 302 certification. Additionally, Darion assisted with the initial implementation and documentation of internal controls for SOX 404 compliance. Darion holds a Master's degree and is a Certified Public Accountant. Over the last 4 years, Darion has become a tremendous asset to the company.

 

Denise Scotti-Smith

Director of Human Resources

With more than 20 years of leadership and human resources experience, Denise Scotti-Smith is responsible for all corporate human resources functions, including, but not limited to, employment law and regulatory compliance, organizational policy development, recruitment and retention efforts, management development and leadership coaching. Prior to joining US&S, Denise gained a wide breadth of experience ranging from front-line management to director-level positions in both operations and employee development in non-profit and for-profit businesses. She possesses a Professional of Human Resources Certificate (PHR), Human Resource Management, and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Practitioner (SHRM-CP) certifications.  She is also a Certified Leadership & Executive Coach and has been a featured human resource expert author in numerous publications. Denise has a B.S. in Human Services with a concentration in Program Planning and Development from Cornell University and a MS in Organizational Management from Saint Joseph's College with a concentration in Human Resource Management.

Euleta Alston

Director of Business Development

Euleta Alston is responsible for all business development affairs for US&S, primarily overseeing the company's marketing communication program, proposal and new business development, corporate certifications and affiliations, community outreach program, and assisting with strategic planning initiatives. Euleta joined the organization in 2009 as a Procurement Specialist and has transitioned into a marketing and leadership role over the past 4 years, truly becoming a valued member of the team. Prior to joining US&S, Euleta specialized in sales and marketing as a pharmaceutical representative for Pfizer, Inc. where she received one of the most prestigious awards within the organization for exemplary sales performance. Euleta holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and is currently in pursuit of her Master's degree in Business from Clemson University all while remaining very active in the local community. She is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 37 and Connections: Women Leaders of the Upstate through Furman University.

Peter Luciano

Director of Operations

Peter Luciano leads the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the company's project and long-term contract portfolio. Peter is especially skilled in building and optimizing organizational processes, measurement systems, and personnel to maximize results in demanding environments with a deep appreciation for strategic planning and lean principles. Prior to joining US&S, Peter served as a Naval Aviator with safety, quality assurance, and instructor program leadership roles.  Transitioning to the construction industry, with purchasing and scheduling expertise, combined with plans management and permitting, he became the Operations Manager for KB Home Orlando. After moving to Greenville, South Carolina in 2007, he broadened his skill set and further developed his knowledge of project management and business development in commercial construction and mechanical systems services. Peter has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Purdue University and a Clemson MBA. Peter is truly an asset to the team.

Donald Tempest

Regional Operations Manager

Don Tempest has over 35 years' of business experience specializing in contracting, labor relations, and facility maintenance and management in both the federal and commercial markets. Don joined the company in 2010 as Regional Operations Manager; he is responsible for the development, coordination, scheduling, and negotiations for all contracts across the South Carolina Florida region of the United States. Prior to joining US&S, Don was the Contract Administrator and Planning Manager for V.T. Griffin Services (now V.T. Group), who at the time was the Base Operating Contractor (BOSC) at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base located in Kings Bay, Georgia. Don is also a U.S. Navy veteran where his career was heavily focused in the areas of Quality Assurance, Safety, and Management, including serving as part of the Submarine Advisory Team for the Atlantic Fleet. We are proud to have Don as an integral part of our team.
 

Ryan Henderson

Janitorial Account Manager

Ryan Henderson has over a decade of dedicated service, management and leadership experience in the janitorial field.  Prior to joining US&S, Ryan earned his stripes as a floor technician and general custodian, quickly being promoted due to excellent job performance and customer service to responsibilities in account and district area management.  His firsthand experience lends instant credibility to frontline personnel as he develops and directs training programs to the highest standards of performance for healthcare and children's facilities.  Ryan's expertise in environmental services and professional cleaning has been critical to our continued success in the janitorial market. Ryan is especially skilled in optimizing operational processess and developing people in order to achieve maximum results for the company as well as our clients. Ryan has truly proven himself to be a valuable asset and a "Rock Star" in the making; we are proud to have him on our team!
