US&S, Inc. Celebrates 10 Years in Business

February 14, 2013

Greenville, SC - US&S, Inc. (US&S) is celebrating its first decade in business founded in 2003, by then retired Naval Commander Richard Hagins, the company has grown to $21 million in annual revenue, employ over 85 people, and service both federal and institutional clients across the southeastern United States. Today, the company has grown to a three-unit company providing facilities support, construction, and staff augmentation services.

"Given that over half of companies fail in their first year of business and even greater percentages fail within their first five years, the fact that we are celebrating a decade in business as a minority owned and operated company is a phenomenal accomplishment," says Mr. Hagins. "Ten years in, we still operate like an entrepreneurial start-up company. US&S remains extremely lean and agile we are growing steadily, performing better and having a lot of fun."

Hagins' continued success and growth of US&S was highlighted with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce recognizing the business as its Minority Business of the Year for 2006, in an article in Greenville Business Magazine.  In 2012, the company was recognized as an Outstanding Small Business by Lockheed Martin and Hagins was honored as the South Carolina nominee for the National Minority Entrepreneurship Award by the Small Business Administration.
