"Given that over half of companies fail in their first year of business and even greater percentages fail within their first five years, the fact that we are celebrating a decade in business as a minority owned and operated company is a phenomenal accomplishment," says Mr. Hagins. Hagins' continued success and growth of US&S was highlighted with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce recognizing the business as its Minority Business of the Year for 2006, in an article in Greenville Business Magazine. In 2012, the company was recognized as an Outstanding Small Business by Lockheed Martin and Hagins was honored as the South Carolina nominee for the National Minority Entrepreneurship Award by the Small Business Administration.
