Richard Hagins, CEO/Owner of US&S, was selected as a 50 Most Influential People Award HALL OF FAME Honoree for Greenville after being recognized as one of Greenville’s Most Influential People Award for several years. The evaluation team interviewed Top Leaders across the area, looking for people who have not only impacted the industry sectors that they serve but also look to those who have contributed to their communities in a meaningful way.
Inductees were honored during an awards reception at Judson Mill in Greenville on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Hagins has served his country in the armed forces and continues to serve the business world and his community through his work with US&S.
Hagins spent 23 years in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of commander before retiring in 2000. He settled in Greenville after his retirement, and in 2003, he founded US&S, a facility maintenance and support service provider. The company specializes in operations and maintenance, repairs, renovation, grounds maintenance, and janitorial service.
While Hagins has made an indelible impact on the Upstate’s business community, he also strives to make a difference in the community as a whole. His commitment to service, Hagins has said, was a family trait passed down from his grandfather.
His community involvement is wide-ranging. Hagins has served on the boards of Upstate Warrior Solutions, Habitat for Humanity of Greenville, Medical University of South Carolina, the Blood Connection, and more.
In 2014, he was named South Carolina Veteran Entrepreneur of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and in 2019, Hagins was named Entrepreneur of the Year Southeast by Ernst & Young.
He currently serves on the board of directors for Prisma Health and the Board of Advisors for United Community and is board chairman for the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.
A graduate of Savannah State College, Hagins holds a master’s degree in business management from Webster University and recently completed the Executive Education program at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
